10 Things in 2022

What am I’m looking forward to reading and watching in 2022? So many things! But I narrowed it down to 10.

(images/descriptions from Goodreads)

THE GENESIS WARS by Akemi Dawn Bowman (4/19/2022)

The Genesis Wars (The Infinity Courts, #2)

Sequel to The Infinity Courts, so I won’t spoil anything, but the first book is described as:  Westworld meets Warcross in this high-stakes, dizzyingly smart sci-fi about a teen girl navigating an afterlife in which she must defeat an AI entity intent on destroying humanity…

BAD THINGS HAPPEN HERE by Rebecca Barrow (6/28/2022)

Bad Things Happen Here

I Killed Zoe Spanos meets The Cheerleaders in this haunting mystery about an island town with a history of unsolved deaths—and a girl desperate to uncover the mystery behind it all.

IN THE SHADOW GARDEN by Liz Parker (Fall 2022)

GARDEN SPELLS meets Practical Magic, in which three generations of witchy women who have the ability to make people forget their pain are coming to a reckoning with a rival family 20 years after their town forgot an entire summer.

MISS ME, MISS ME NOT by Elodie Nowodazkij (10/4/2022)

Book 4 in the Gavert City series, blurb not yet available, but the other books are YA thriller/romance.

THE BLACKWOODS by Brandy Colbert (Fall 2022)

No description on Goodreads yet, but I saw the author tweet about it: a multigenerational story about a Black Hollywood family told from four POVs that opens with the death of Blossom Blackwood, celebrated actress and matriarch.

MOONFALL (2/4/2022)

Three American astronauts floating in space look towards the moon.

The trailer has Donald Sutherland being his creepiest best, the guy who played Sam from GoT (who was about the only non sucky character), and it’s directed by the guy who did Independence Day. Lots of explosions, people running, ominous music, complete nonsensical storyline…I HAVE TO watch this.

THE LOST CITY (3/25/2022)

Sandra Bullock is adorably grumpy, Channing Tatum shows up, capering and comedy ensue.

I’ll be honest, I’m not entirely sure what’s going on here, since it’s sci-fi, but the trailer is interesting, and Michelle Yeoh looks badass.

ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE (Part One) (10/7/2022)

The first movie was sweet, funny, fun, and emotional. I’m here for more adventures with Miles Morales!

SHE-HULK (sometime in 2022)

Okay, this is a TV show, not a movie, but I’m excited. I have loved all things Hulk since I watched the 80s cartoon as a child and saw that Hulk just wanted to hang out with animals because people made him anxious. Relatable. Then I learned he had a cousin named JENNIFER and omg that was MY name! I’ve been waiting for a show or movie about her for literal decades. Do not disappoint me, Marvel. Do not.

Published by Jennifer Pickrell

I write YA contemporary filled w/ romance, angst & family drama. Things I like: cats, snacks, baseball, green tea, taking pictures of trees & movies so bad, they’re good.
