YAB Bootcamp – Final Update

YAB-Spring-Writing-Challenge-2014So I’ve seriously slacked on my updates and I’m late with this one, but better late than never, right?

When I started bootcamp, my goals were:

March – finish revisions on the 2nd half of JULES

April – do a final read-through, write a synopsis and get my first batch of query letters ready

May – start sending out queries and (possibly) start on a SNI

Results:

April and May – check and check

May started off as planned, but then I got some really valuable feedback from agents and I’m currently working on a revision of JULES. My aim is to have it finished and off to readers by the end of June.

I loved doing bootcamp and having accountability, but I sort-of fell off the wagon for a bit. I wasn’t writing or editing every day like I was used to and my schedule was all out of whack. I think that made me less productive because even when I’m just tweaking scenes or skimming for filler words, I’m still moving forward.

This summer it’s back to what works!

  1. It sounds like you accomplished a lot even though you fell off the wagon for a little bit. Good luck moving forward.

  2. That’s fantastic that you got feedback from agents! And major kudos for meeting your goals in April & May. That’s huge! 🙂
