Springtime in Paris (and some other places)*
March means spring, so I’m tackling foreign language books translated to English or books that take place in other countries.
Here’s what I got:
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins (Paris!)
The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende (translated from Spanish)
The Gendarme by Mark Mustian (old man reflects on his time in WWI, escorting Armenians from Turkey)**
Picking Bones from Ash by Marie Mutsuki Mockett (Japan)
*If you will refer to Monday’s post, you’ll see I’m also going to read four random books from my TBR-list. Yay, surprises!
^Full disclosure: I didn’t finish reading two books from February’s list, so two of the four books aren’t a surprise. Yay, half surprises!
**Gendarme is French, right? I think I’m pronouncing the word correctly in my head – this won’t be another Jean Valjean incident where I called him…well, Jean Valjean, with a “J” as in “just,” until my older bro pointed out: “that’s not right.”
